KASA is an organization that promotes Korean culture through social, political, and community events. At KASA, Korean Americans gather to bolster a sense of Korean American heritage through serving the community such as the LA Riots “Sa-I-Gu” commemoration, spreading the ideals and values of what it means to be Korean-Americans, and creating opportunities to meet great people that build lasting connections.

"KASA (Korean American Students Association) is one of the largest Asian-American organizations at UCLA. It was born in 1972, and since then, has existed to introduce and provide the local community different aspects of the Korean American culture."

Our UCLA membership and network consists of about 500 students. Our organization is also part of an “umbrella organization” called scKcSA (the Southern California Korean College Student Association), which includes KASA chapters within 11 universities in Southern California. Every year, KASA helps scKcSA host many large events, which hundreds of students attend and admission for which usually sells out. Some such events include our annual KASA Freshmen Danceoff competition, All-KASA clubbing events, Sports Tournament, High School Outreach, and LA Riots Commemoration.

Because KASA and scKcSA (Chongdae) have been so actively involved in the Korean community since the 1970’s, we serve as a direct liaison between the KA and student community. KASA is always the first contact for KA organizations, such as the Korean American Federation, Korean American Coalition, Koreatown Youth & Community Center, Kollaboration, KoreAm magazine, KHEIR, and the Korean Consulate General of Los Angeles.
